XPSD Studio Elsa, Helsinki City Theatre
exposed and divided Premiere: 20.3.2010 Studio Elsa, Helsinki City Theatre, Finland The new dance production by Kenneth Kvarnström made in co-production with Helsinki Dance Company (HDC) and K. Kvarnström & Co. The premiere date is March 20, 2010. XPSD is in two parts, where history and today is intertwined: for example in the costumes by Erika Turunen, where 17-century meets punk. The music score is by Jukka Rintamäki, who is known from the Swedish rockband Silverbullit. Kenneth Kvarnström: "I would like to try something new. A new way of working, a different way of making "art". What could it be? How should I do it? Can you tell something without using words? If I would like to express 21 poems, in which way should/could we "read" them? Can you say the same things with your body, than with words? How will the audience read the poetry of the body (in motion)? Will they share the same experience, or is it personal what you see, how you see? Can I express the words highspeed, secret, passion? It remains to be seen!" XPSD will go on a two months tour in Sweden and Europe, in the autumn 2010.
